While Fundamentals 1 (PT101) gives you the foundation of using Pro Tools, it’s Fundamentals II (PT110) that encompasses more advanced techniques. The two courses are designed to build on one another, but they serve very different purposes.
In Fundamentals I, you learn how to create sessions, record basic audio and MIDI, use common editing tools, and build simple mixes. It’s the starting point for Avid Pro Tools.
Fundamentals II goes much further. You’ll begin handling mid-sized sessions, creating complex edits, using advanced recording techniques, and working with video. It introduces you to session management strategies, automation, Elastic Audio, and virtual instruments.
If your goal is to become Pro Tools Certified, both Fundamentals I and Fundamentals II are a requirement for the Specialist exam. Completing both courses gives you a strong foundation and the confidence to tackle more challenging projects.
Purchase the Avid Pro Tools Fundamentals II (PT110) course to continue your training and move closer to certification.
