The Skills You’ll Gain in Avid Pro Tools Fundamentals II

Avid Pro Tools Fundamentals II (PT110) deepens your technical abilities and helps you become a more efficient, confident creator. Throughout the course, you’ll build skills that improve the quality of your work and help speed up your workflow.

One of the most valuable areas you’ll explore is session management. Fundamentals II teaches you to set up complex sessions with higher track counts, adjust system configurations, and select the right Playback Engine settings for your project. These skills are essential for avoiding crashes, playback errors, and lag.

You’ll learn advanced recording workflows, including loop recording and capturing multiple takes in succession. This is especially helpful for musicians, vocalists, and voice-over work. The course also covers virtual instruments and specialized plugins, allowing you to build fuller arrangements without needing external hardware.

Elastic Audio is another major component. You’ll develop the ability to warp audio, adjust timing, and make creative or corrective edits with precision. Combined with Real-Time Properties, you’ll be able to shape MIDI performances more naturally and efficiently.

Clip-based editing also becomes a central skill. Instead of making broad changes across entire tracks, you’ll learn to make fine adjustments at the clip level which is ideal for polishing vocal lines, refining transitions, or cleaning up complex sessions.

Automation, submixes, and track grouping round out the course. These techniques help you build cleaner mixes, reduce session clutter, and streamline your workflow so you can focus on creativity.

"I considered going somewhere else to train, but that takes food and travel expenses, as well as additional days off work. I was able to complete these courses when I had the time and the cost was way better than the other ‘big’ training places."

"The sheer cost of taking these classes in a ‘Big City’ was out of my reach, and I was ready to start recording today. These guys were a lot cheaper, and I could do the coursework as fast as I wanted instead having to wait 16-weeks for other places."
